His Holiness Sakya Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, reputed to be the emanation of Manjushri and Virupa, is one of the most accomplished lineage holders respected by all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. We are profoundly fortunate to receive this major empowerment (wangchen) from His Holiness as this special yidam is one of his main practices.

There are many Tara teachings in Vajrayana, and this Chime Phagma Nyingtik is one of the most treasured Arya Tara teachings. It is connected to the three most important Vidyadharas of maha-ati or Dzogchen—Vimalamitra, Shri Singha and Guru Padmasambhava. Arya Tara is generally considered to be a deity of protection and white Arya Tara in particular is also associated with longevity.

-Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche
